WAFA Ball Mill Refiner


The Ball Mill refiners series WAFA are specifically designed for the production of all kinds of chocolate, chocolate compound, hazelnut or peanut creams, etc, starting from raw materials like sugar, cocoa powder, cocoa butter or vegetable fat replacement, hazelnut or peanut paste, etc... The ingredients are poured inside the loading hopper, or into a pre-mixer for the bigger models. Once the mixture of ingredients is loaded in the machine, special alloy spheres, kept moving by a specially designed inner mixing shaft, work on the particles of the mixture continuously grinding and mixing the solids with the fat creating a smooth cream. The product is constantly recirculated inside the machine by a pump through a manifold to provide an equal process for the entire batch. The same pump is used to discharge the batch and move the refined cream to a storage tank. The final degree of fineness varies according to the processing time, with a 20-22 micron normally reachable in an hour with standard ingredients. The machine is provided with a temperature control system for the water running into the jackets with an automatic heating system through electric resistances and a plate heat exchanger to be connected to the factory chilled water supply.
